In this crochet even stitch tutorial, there is written instructions including a free PDF pattern of a dishcloth. There is a video tutorial of the crochet stitch, too.
This crochet stitch uses the berry stitch and the single crochet. The pattern looks like raised squares with spaces in between.
This stitch works for lots of crochet projects. I have made dishcloths, scarves, cowls, ear warmers, and a blanket using it.
