Easy Denim Mini Knot Bag Crochet Pattern to Make

Looking for a fun purse to make? Try this easy free mini denim knot bag crochet pattern. This pattern is an easy continuous circle with straps added on.

You only need 2 skeins of Lion Brand Cotton Jeans Yarn to make this mini size knot bag. This pattern uses 2 strands at the same time.

The knot bag has a longer and shorter handle. You put the long handle through the short handle to close the bag. Then you can easily carry it on your wrist.

How to Make an Easy Free Knot Bag Crochet Pattern

Supplies

• Scissors
• tapestry or yarn needle
• 4 mm – crochet hook
• 2- 3.5 oz (100 g) LB Collection Cotton Jeans in Classic Indigo or any 100% cotton #3 yarn 218 yds or (200 m)

Abbreviations – US Terms

• ch/chs – chain/chains
• st/sts – stitch/stitches
• sc – single crochet stitch
• dc – double crochet stitch

Mini Knot Bag Crochet Pattern

Tips

• Use an even number for the chain if you want to make the bag smaller or larger.
• After the first row, the bag is worked in continuous rounds.
• The handles are 2 different sizes, worked in rows.
• This pattern uses 2 strands of yarn

Bag size: without handles 7 in x 7.5 in with longest handle 12 in high

Ch 20 using 2 strands of yarn

Row 1: In the 2^nd ch from the hook sc in each st across. 2 sc in the last ch. Turn and sc in each st on the other side of the chain. 2 sc in the last ch.

Round 1: sc in each st around.

Round 2-3: Repeat Round 1

Tip: Alternate single stitch and double crochet for the main part of the bag.

Tip: single crochet stitch on top of double crochet, double crochet on top of single stitch for entire pattern.

Round 4: sc in the 1^st st, dc in 2^nd. Repeat sc, dc for entire round.

Rounds 5-19: Repeat Round 5.

Round 20-22 : sc in each st around.

Short Handle

Row 1: sc in the next 5 sts. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 2: sc in 2^nd st and in each st of the row. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 3-22: Repeat Row 2.

Cut and know yarn.

Long Handle:

Pull up a stitch counting 5 stitches from the end of the bag from the opposite side where you made the short handle.

Row 1: 5 sc. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 2: sc in 2^nd st and in each st of the row. Ch 1 and turn.

Repeat Row 2 until you have 40 rows. Cut and knot yarn.

If need a larger handle just add more rows. I doubled the short handle to get the length of the long handle.

I had about 1 ball of yarn left over if you want to make the bag bigger or the handles longer.

Finishing

Lay bag flat. Fold each handle over 1 at a time and sew to the opposite side of the bag. Go back and forth 2-3 times for strength. Go through the back half of the stitch on each side to help hide the joining.
