Do you like making blankets with Lion Brand Mandala Yarn. I do. This easy blanket has tons of colors all from using Mandala yarn.
You get lots of colors in just one cake of DK or gauge 3 yarn. This one has pink, green, blue, purple and yellow and is called Giant.
The great thing about Lion Brand Mandala yarn besides all the colors in one skein is that it comes in lots of colorways and is easy to find.

The Stitch
This colorful blanket is made using the Rice Stitch. This stitch is a combination of the double crochet stitch in the front and back loop and the half double crochet stich at the beginning and end of each row.
The stitch makes a pretty woven design that looks great when changing yarn frequently. The stitch is an easy one row repeat but it is not the fastest because you are using front and back post double crochet which does take some time.
I have uses this stitch to make a variegated scarf and an ear warmer. What are you going to make?

Ch 221
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from the hook. dc in each ch to the end. Chain 1 and turn.
Row 2: hdc in 1st st. *fpdc around next stitch, bpdc around next st; repeat from * until you have 2 sts remaining. Fpdc, hdc in top of turning ch. Chain 1, and turn.
Repeat row 2 until you have 128 rows or the length you want. Cut yarn and weave in ends with a tapestry needle.
Tip: I cut the skein of yarn into different colors because I didn’t want so much blue or yellow together at one time. I alternated the 2 skeins for 2 rows each until I got to the sections where there was 3 yellows in a row.
Make your own beautifully colored striped blanket using this easy pattern. This pattern is simple to remember and great for watching TV and crocheting.
This pattern would make a lovey baby blanket too. The yarn is lighter so it is great for spring or warmer climates.
