If you’re looking to make a cozy, simple baby gift, this striped blanket is such a sweet option. It’s soft, gentle, and doesn’t feel overwhelming to put together—perfect when you want something handmade without a lot of stress.
The pattern uses just two basic stitches, so it’s easy to get into a rhythm. The result is a chunky, textured blanket that looks beautiful but is very beginner-friendly (or a relaxing project if you’ve been crocheting for a while).
This baby blanket works up fast too. There are just a few ends to weave in and you get 3 colors that work great together and you only need 2 skeins for a quick baby shower gift.

I was looking for my next chunky yarn crochet project and wanted to make a soft baby blanket with using Bernat Blanket Yarn baby stripes chenille yarn.
I love the color of this Sprouts yarn, a great combination of green, gray and white. It makes an easy crochet stripe blanket. Looking for a different color that is not blue or pink this color combo would be perfect.
This soft yarn is a super bulky gauge 6 yarn so the blanket will work up fast. The self striping yarn is great because you get lots colors without having to change colors.
