Photo Pendant Kids Craft Supplies
- 1 in print of photos
- metal pendant base and glass
- matching necklace or key chain
- scissors
- Annie Howe’s Glamour Seal
- Xyron Sticker Maker
Step 1.
Cut out the 1 inch squares carefully. For pictures you want them printed on matte photo paper, cardstock or have them professionally printed. Matte paper or professionally printed works best. You want to reduce the squares by to 97%. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements. It works great for editing photos and creating graphics. You might want to lighten your photos. If you using your own printer, they might be too dark.
Step 2.
Put the 1 inch square in face down in the sticker making machine. Pull the paper strip from the bottom until you see the photo square covered with the plastic and past the tearing teeth. Tear the strip off. Rub the back of the photo with the edge of a credit card or squeegee. Drag the card across the photo both directions several times pressing down as you go.
Step 3.
Pull the sticky plastic off the photo square. Peel the square off the backing. Take the glass square and aline the front of the photo square with the top edge of the back of the clear glass square. Take the edge of the card, squeegee or your finger and rub against the back of the photo. Keep rubbing until the image looks clear.
Step 4.
Put the glamour seal in the bottom of the pendant tray using a light back and forth motion. You don’t want a lot or it will make the inkjet images bleed and become blurry, just a light coat. I use the tip to spread it around. Place the photo and glass down into the pendant tray. You don’t want there to be glue oozing out around the glass. That is a sign of too much glue. Press down firmly on the glass. Let dry 24 hours. If you are using professionally printed photos, you can use modge podge instead of the glamour glue.
This pendant is not waterproof. If you want a waterproof pendant, you will want to use resin. You need to coat the photo with the glamour glue making sure to cover the edges of the photo. If not it will make the paper turn translucent and yellowish. You will not need much resin for the pendant.
