I was looking for my next crochet project and wanted to make an ombre crochet blanket. I found this 4 pack of yarn from Herrschners. This easy to get yarn, comes in lovely gradient colors.
The Herrschners yarn is a worsted weight 4 yarn. It is easy to use, readily available, and inexpensive.

- H – 5 mm crochet hook
- 2 – pack of Herrschners® Worsted 8™ Gradient Yarn Pack – Coral or any worsted weight gauge 4 yarn. (8 oz/226g/489 yd/448m ball) Aran, Peachy, Salmon, & Honeysuckle
Abbreviations – US Term
- yo – yarn over
- ch – chain
Star stitch video – right handed
Gauge: 4 in = 9 stitches x 10 rows (10.16 cm)
Approx. 44 in x 50 in (112 cm x 127 cm)
You can make a larger or smaller blanket by using an odd number for the chain.

Coral Ombre Crochet Blanket Pattern
Chain 101 in Honeysuckle
Row 1: insert hook into the 2nd chain from the hook, pull up a loop. Insert hook into the 3rd chain from the hook and pull up a loop. Skip the next chain. In the 5th chain from the hook, insert the hook and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops on your hook. *Chain 1. In the chain 1 space you just made, insert the hook and pull up a loop.
In the last chain that was worked (from the hook where you pulled up your 4th loop), insert the hook and pull up a loop. Two chains over (in the seven chain from the hook), pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops. Repeat * until you reach the end of the row. Chain 2 more for a total of 3 chains and turn.
Row 2: In the 2nd chain from the hook, pull up a loop. In the 1st chain 1 from the turning chain from the row below, insert the hook and pull up a loop. Then insert your hook into the 2nd stitch from the row below. Pull up a loop. Then pull through all 4 loops on your hook. *Chain 1.
In the chain 1 space you just made, insert the hook and pull up a loop. In the last chain that was worked (from the hook where you pulled up your 4th loop), insert the hook and pull up a loop. Two chains over (in the seven chain from the hook), pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops. Repeat * until you reach the end of the row. Chain 2 more for a total of 3 chains and turn.
Keep repeating row 2, until you have rows. Color change as follows: 8 rows of Honeysuckle, 8 rows of Salmon, 8 rows of Peachy, 16 Rows of Aran, 8 rows of Peachy, 8 rows of Salmon, 16 rows of Honeysuckle, 8 rows of Salmon, 8 rows of Peachy, 16 Rows of Aran, 8 rows of Peachy, 8 rows of Salmon, 8 rows of Honeysuckle.
