I had left over yarn from my free textured crochet ear warmer pattern, I made last week. I decided to make a textured crochet cowl pattern to match. I used almost all of the yarn making 2 ear warmers and the cowl.
Crocheted cowls are great. They keep your neck warm without getting in the way. This is a cushy soft cowl with great texture.
This crocheted cowl pattern is made using Lion Brand Homespun Yarn. This yarn has a wavy texture and is gauge 5 so it works up extra quickly.

Yarn
I picked the yarn up for another project. I really don’t remember what. I have a horde of art supplies. I love to make all kinds of things.
I am trying to reduce my extra supplies. So, when I found the tan yarn, I thought it would be great for an ear warmer pattern.
I started the pattern and decided that light tan was too plain for me. I went looking for some more yarn and found the dark red, black, and caramel color yarn.
After the crocheted ear warmer, I made the matching cowl to complete the set.
This crochet pattern is great for beginners too. I would call this pattern a beginner plus. You only need to be able to do chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and single crochet in the back loop.
I have made a few other free cowl crochet patterns that you can try: Cocoa Chunky Cowl, Moss Stitch Chunky Cowl, and Candy Cane Neck Warmer Pattern.
