I added a simple border to the dishcloth for a more finished look. For the border, I used the first row of the pattern.
You can use as a square crocheted washcloth as a cleaning cloth, dish towel, or dishcloth. They work great and are durable.
This crochet stitch makes a variation of a shell design using double crochet stitches. It is a simple 2 row repeat, great for watching TV and crocheting. It is a easy crochet stitch with great texture.

Row 1: 1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc in 3rd chain from hook, * skip next 2 chs, 1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc in next ch, repeat from * across, ending with 1 hdc in last ch, turn.
Row 2: ch 3, * 3 dc in next ch 2 space (shell), repeat from * across, ending with 1 dc in top of turning ch, turn.
Row 3: ch 2, * 1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc in 2nd dc of next shell, repeat from * across, ending with 1 hdc in top of turning chain, turn.
Repeat rows 2 & 3
Border:
Round 1: sc in each stich across. 2 sc in the corner. 4 sc for each of the 2 rows down the side (3 sts for the dc, 1 for hdc) . 1 single in each stitch cross. Slip stitch to the 1st st.

Cut yarn and weave in ends with a tapestry needle.
