Looking for a classic ripple baby blanket crochet pattern? Try this colorful rainbow sherbet ripple baby blanket free crochet pattern.

I wanted to make a colorful soft cotton crocheted rainbow baby blanket pattern. I love the soft waves of this basic ripple baby blanket crochet pattern.

This pattern uses the a classic ripple or wave baby blanket pattern. This pattern is an one repeat.

I would call this free crochet rainbow blanket pattern an advanced beginner. Chevron, wave, or ripple blankets require counting on each row to make sure you have the valleys and peaks in the correct spot.

The crochet stitches are not complicated but it is easy to get off track if you are not careful.

I choose Bernat Softee Baby Cotton Yarn. The soft cotton yarn comes in 12 pastel and muted tones. I like the variety of colors available and the ease of use of this yarn.

This lightweight yarn is gauge 3. It will make a great blanket for summertime or to wrap up a new baby.

  • Swaddling Blanket: 40 in x 40 in- for wrapping a newborn up tight usually made of gauze or flannel (101.6 cm) but a lightweight yarn would work
