- For the chain you need a multiple of 4.
- After that pattern is set, you do 2 double crochets, 2 chain stitches, 1 single crochet in the 2 chain spaces and repeat.
- Repeat row 2 for the pattern.
- The chain counts as the 1st stitch of the row for the pattern.
Step by Step Tulip Stitch Crochet Tutorial
- Chain multiple of 4. Example 36 chains.
- Double crochet in the 3rd chain from the hook. Chain 2. Then 1 single crochet in the next stitch.
- Skip 2 chains. Do 2 double crochet in the next chain. Chain 2. Then 1 single crochet in the next chain.
- Repeat step 3 until the end of the row. The last stitch will be a single crochet. Turn your work.
- Chain 2. (2 double crochet, chain 2, 1 single crochet) in the chain 2 space. Then repeat: (2 double crochet, chain 2, 1 single crochet) in the chain 2 space until you reach the end of the row.
- Repeat step #5 until you have the length you want.

Row 2: Ch 2, Skip 1st st. (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in ch 2 sp. *Skip 3 sts. (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in ch 2 sp. Repeat from * across. Turn.
Repeat row 2 until you have 17 rows or the washcloth is square.
Cut and knot yarn. Weave in all ends.
