Supplies
- scissors
- tapestry needle
- 1- 3.5 oz Coboo Yarn in Steel Blue, Maeve or any other cotton yarn gauge 3 yarn 232 yd
- 3.5 mm crochet hook
Abbreviations – US Terms
- yo – yarn over
- sl – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet stitch
Tips for the Keychain Pattern
- You can make a larger or smaller project by using an multiple of 3 + 2 for the chain.
- Chain 1 counts as the 1st stitch. For the 1st stitch you do the chain 1, hdc, dc all in the same stitch for Row 2. After that, the 1st stitch is the chain 1 & hdc, with the dc stich 2 rows below.
- You will want the chain to measure 1/2 in large than the widest part of your hand. Check with the 2 ends together that you can easily remove the strap.

Row 1: In 2nd chain from the hook, sc in each st across. Chain 1 and turn
Row 2: hdc, dc in the 1st st of the row, skip 2 chains and in the next work sc, hdc, dc. Skip 2 chains and repeat “sc, hdc, dc” into the next space. Repeat across to the end until there is one chain left. Work 1 sc. Chain 1, turn.
Row 3: hdc into the top of the sc you just made. dc in the stitch 2 rows below. Skip over the dc and hdc, *“sc, hdc” into the sc. dc in the 2 stitch 2 rows below*. Repeat the pattern across ending the last stitch with one single crochet. Chain 1, turn.
Row 4: Repeat Row 3.
Row 5: sc in 2nd st and in each stitch across.
Finishing
Cut yarn and knot. Leave a long yarn tail. Match the two short ends together. Put a metal key ring between the 2 sides.
Sew using the long tail below the key ring and above going through both sides of the wristlet. Then, make sure you have all the edges by whip stitching the 2 ends together. Weave in all ends.
