The idea for this blanket started with the Lion Brand Mandala Yarn in Dragon. This pretty gauge 3 yarn is a mix of browns, blues, and greens.
I was working on the linen stitch for another pattern and loved the woven fabric look that the stitch has. Then I had the idea to mix two skeins of the yarn for a beautiful color combination.
The blanket turned out stunning. The colors mixed together beautifully and did not repeat at the same time. The colors blend well together.

How to Make a Woodland Linen Stitch Crochet Blanket Pattern
Supplies
- scissors
- tapestry needle
- 4 mm crochet hook
- 4 -5.3 oz (150 g) Lion Brand Mandala Yarn in Dragon or any gauge 3 light dk weight yarn 590 yd (540 m)
Abbreviations – US Terms
- yo – yarn over
- ch– chain stitch
- sc – single crochet
- sk– skip stitch
Size: 36 in x 60 in (91 cm x 152 cm)
Start with a different color on each of the skeins of the yarn. I started with a blue and green.
Before finish the sc at the end of the row change to the 2nd color. Carry the 1st color on top of the last row as you crochet over it.
Occasionally check the color you are crocheting over to make sure it is flat and there is no loops. You can lightly tug on the blanket to smooth out the gaps or loops.
You can make a larger or smaller crochet blanket an even number for the chain.

Two-Color Woodland Linen Stitch Crochet Blanket Pattern
Chain 180
Row 1: sc in the 4th chain from the hook, 1 ch, sk the next stitch, sc in the next stitch. Repeat until the end of the row ending with a sc in the last chain. Chain 2, turn.
Before finish the sc at the end of the row change to the 2nd color. Carry the 1st color on top of the last row as you crochet over it.
Row 2: sc in the chain space from the row below. Then *ch 1, sk 1 sc, sc in next ch 1 space*. Repeat from * until the end of the row. The last sc is worked into the space between the ch 2 turning chain and sc from the row before. Chain 2, turn.
Before finish the sc at the end of the row change to the 2nd color. Carry the 1st color on top of the last row as you crochet over it.
Repeat Row 2 until you have 200 rows or the length you want.
Cut yarn and knot. Weave in ends.
