  • 2- 10.5 oz (300 g) of Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn in Pitter Patter or any gauge #6 super bulky yarn 220 yd (201 m)
  • scissors
  • yarn or tapestry needle
  • 10 mm crochet hook

Abbreviations – US Terms

  • ch/chs – chain/chains
  • st/sts – stitch/stitches
  • sc – single crochet
  • dc – double crochet stitch

Tips for the Blanket Pattern

  • Chain an even number for the starting chain.
  • Leave long yarn tails for chenille yarn.
  • chain 1 counts as first single crochet of row.
  • End with a single crochet in the last stitch

baby blanket size: 29.5 in x 33 in (75 cm x 84 cm)

throw size: 60 in x 70 in ch 114 do 117 rows (9 skeins)

Row 1: In the 2nd st from the hook, sc and in each st across. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 2: (sc, dc) in 1st st. *skip st (sc, dc) in st.* repeat from ** to the end of the row. Chain 1 and turn.

Row 3: dc in the 1st stitch * (sc, dc) in sc of the row below, repeat from * to the end of the row. Chain 1 and turn.

Final row of the suzette stitch, do two single crochets in the last stitch. Then follow with one row of single crochet.

Repeat Row 3 until you have 50 rows or the length you want.

Cut and knot yarn. Weave in all ends. Leave long yarn tails so the yarn has less chance of unraveling.

You need 6 skeins of each color of Lion Brand thick and quick re-spun in cinnamon and whipped cream to make this 60 in x 70 in throw blanket. Chain 114 and approximately 132 rows. I did 2 rows of each color.
