November has arrived and it is time to think about Thanksgiving kid crafts. A colorful easy curly turkey craft for kids is perfect.
This is a fun curly turkey kid craft using supplies you probably already have, paper plates and paint.
You can use this craft to keep your kids entertained while you cook Thanksgiving dinner. I have lots of other turkey crafts here.
Pair with a book for creating and reading fun together. We like The Plump and Perky Turkey.

Curly Turkey Kid Craft
Supplies
- Red, brown, orange and yellow paint – I used this
- Small and large paper plates, 1 of each
- Googly eyes
- Glue
- Paint brush
- Scissors
- Another small plate or palette to put the paint on
First, fold the large paper plate in half and then cut it into 2 parts. Paint the front of the paper plate halves brown.
Cut out the center of the small paper plate. My is the whole plate in the picture, after I painted it, I decided it was too large and cut it down.
Paint the small circle brown. Let the plates dry.
Glue the googly eyes on the small plate in the center. Paint a yellow triangle for the beak and a red teardrop for the waddle.
Cut the edge of the 2 paper plates into 1/4 in fringe. Cut just into the edge of the plate. Turn the plate over to the white side. Paint each strip a different color, orange, red and yellow. Let dry.
Take the end of the paint brush and curl each of the strips towards the center of the plate on both halves. Glue the two plate pieces together, one within the other.
Then, glue the head in the center of the bottom plate half. Enjoy!
