How to Make a Herringbone Throw Crochet Pattern using Caron Chunky Cakes Yarn

Supplies

• Scissors
• tapestry needle
• N – 9 mm crochet hook 
• 4– Caron Chunky Cakes in Rice Pudding any other super bulky gauge 6 yarn approx. 40 oz. or 1200 yd.

Abbreviations – US Terms

• yo – yarn over
• hbdc – herringbone stitch double crochet

special stitch -herringbone stitch double crochet – yarn over, insert your hook into the stitch. yo and pull back through the stitch and the next loop on the hook. yo pull through 1 loop on the hook, yo, pull through remaining two loops on the hook. You can make a larger or smaller super chunky yarn blanket by using any number for the chain.

Herringbone Crochet Blanket Pattern Instructions

Chain 113

Row 1: hbdc in the 3rd chain from hook repeat until the end of the chain, chain 3 turn

Row 2: hbdc in the first hbdc repeat until the end of the chain, chain 3 turn

Row 3: Repeat row 2 until you have 55 rows or used all your yarn that you can ending with a full row of the same color. Tie and cut off. Weave in ends.
