While planning for what crochet pattern I was going to do next, I thought of Christmas. It made me remember mini Christmas wreath crochet ornaments my mom made.
She used the rings from a six pack of soda and crocheted around them to make cute crocheted wreaths.
I decided to make my own crochet wreath ornament pattern using Christmas colored cotton yarn and thick pony tail holders.
This mini Christmas crochet ornament wreath pattern is an quick and easy project. You need some cotton yarn and a pony tail holder.

How to Make an Mini Christmas Wreath Ornament Crochet Pattern
Supplies
- Scissors
- tapestry needle
- H/8, 5 mm Crochet Hook
- 1 – 3 oz (85 g) Lily Sugar n Cream in Beachhouse, Mistletoe, Red, Green or any other worsted weight cotton yarn
- Thick pony tail holders
Mini Christmas Wreath Ornament Crochet Pattern
Abbreviations – US Terms
- ch– chain
- dc – double crochet stitch
- sc – single crochet stitch
- st– stitch
- sl st – slip st
Before you start the crochet wreath ornament pattern you might want to put your pony tail holders around a glass or can to make them more circular.
You can make as many single crochet stitches around the pony tail holder. The more you do the more ruffled of an edge you will have. I did 35 single crochet stitches for the Beachhouse one and 38 for the Mistletoe one.
Round 1: 35 sc around the pony tail holder. sl st to the 1st sc. Chain 3.
Round 2: dc in each sc around. sl st to the 1st dc. Chain 1.
Round 3: sc, ch 1, sc in each st around. sl st to 1st sc.
Cut yarn and knot. Weave in ends.
To finish, you can tie a bow using some yarn. Decide on the top of your wreath and cut a loop of yarn to thread through and tie a knot.
Your crocheted Christmas wreath ornament is finished and ready to give as a gift or hung on the Christmas tree. You could make these easy wreaths in any color to go with your Christmas Décor.
You could use these colorful wreaths as coasters too. It would add some Christmas color to your house.
