Easy Spider Stitch Crochet Pattern: Step by Step Tutorial
Step 1.
Chain an odd number.
Step 2.
Crochet in the 3rd chain from the hook. Then work 1 single crochet, 1 chain, and 1 single crochet in the same chain.
Next skip 1 chain and work 1 single crochet, 1 chain, and 1 single crochet in the same chain.
This is called a spider: 1 single crochet, 1 chain, and 1 single crochet in the same chain or stitch.
Repeat skip 1 chain, do 1 spider until the last stitch then single crochet in the last stitch. Chain 2 and turn.
Step 3.
Skip over the first 2 stitches and find the chain space from the row before. Do 1 spider in the chain space. Repeat skipping 2 stitches and do 1 spider in the chain space.
When you get to the last stitch do a single crochet in the last stitch. Chain 2 and turn.
Repeat this step until you get the length you want.

Row 1: 3rd chain from the hook, work one sc, one ch, one sc, then skip one ch, and work the spider again. (sc–ch–sc). Continue across the whole row. You should have one extra chain at the end. Work a sc into that stitch. ch 2 and turn.
ROW 2: Skip over the first two stitches and find that ch space. You’ll want to work your sc–ch–sc into that stitch. Continue across the row until the last stitch will be sc. Chain 2, turn.
Repeat Row 2 until you have the length you want.
