Looking for an easy children’s scarf crochet pattern to try? This sequins crochet crochet pattern is a great project to try.
The easy spider stich scarf crochet pattern uses the chain stitch and the single crochet stitch with an easy repeat.
This crochet stitch makes a small textured pattern with a line. It is a simple and fast repeat, great for watching TV and crocheting. You could make it with any color you wanted.
The Yarn
I choose Lion Brand Mandala Sequin Yarn in Tranquil. I love the pretty colors in this self striping yarn. The scarf only takes one cake of this yarn.
The yarn is easy to work with and come in lots of colors. Lion Brand Mandala Yarn is 100% acrylic and machine washable.
A crochet scarf would make a great gift too. You can choose a color to go with their style or a neutral that would work for anyone. They are practical too.

I rolled the different colors of yarn into separate balls before I started.
Approx. size of children’s scarf: 4.5 in x 43 in (11 cm x 109 cm)
Chain 20
Row 1: 3rd chain from the hook, work one hdc, repeat to the end. Chain 1 turn.
Row 2: Skip the 1st, and work the spider: sc, one ch, one sc(all in the same stitch), then skip one stitch. Continue across the whole row( spider then skip one chain). You should have one extra chain at the end. Work a sc into that stitch. ch 1 and turn.
ROW 3: Skip over the first two stitches and find that ch space. You’ll want to work your sc–ch–sc (spider) into that stitch. Continue across the row, putting one sc–ch–sc (spider) into chain space repeat until the last stitch. The last stitch will be sc. Chain 1, turn.
Repeat Row 3 until you have 142 rows or use all the yarn stopping on a completed row. I finished with another row of half double crochet (chain 2 before this row.) Cut yarn weave in ends.
