How to Make a Soft Purple & Gray Ombre Bulky Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern

Supplies

• 2 – 10.5 oz of Bernat Baby Blanket Stripes Yarn in Violets or 220 yd of gauge 6 super bulky yarn
• scissors
• tapestry needle
• 9 mm crochet hook

Abbreviations – US Terms

• yo – yarn over
• ch– chain
• ch sp – chain space
• dc– double crochet
• puff – puff stitch
• st/s– stitch/stitches

Special stitch: Puff stitch- *YO, insert your hook and pull up a loop. Repeat from * 3 more times, inserting your hook into the same space, YO and pull through all loops. Chain 1.

To make a larger or smaller blanket use a multiple of 4 +3 number for the chain.

Approx. baby blanket size: 30 in x 36 in (76 cm x 91 cm)

Ch 55

Row 1: Dc in 4th chain from hook and in each ch. Chain 3 and turn.

Row 2: Skip 2nd st. Puff in 3rd, ch 1, sk 1. Dc, ch 1, sk 1. Repeat** *Puff, ch 1, sk 1, dc, ch1, sk 1* Last 3 sts: puff, ch 1, dc. Chain 2 and turn.

Row 3: Dc in each st and ch sp. Chain 3 and turn.

Repeat rows 2-3 until you have 37 rows or the length you want. End with a row of dc.

Cut yarn and knot. Weave in ends. Enjoy your crocheted super bulky purple ombre blanket.
