- yo – yarn over
- sl – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet

You can make a larger or smaller crochet dishcloth or a blanket by using an odd number for the chain.

Row 1: In 3rd chain from the hook, sl in the chain, then hdc. Alternate sl, hdc. Repeat across to the end. End with a sl. Chain 2, turn.
Row 2: sl into the 2nd on top of the hdc from the row below. Alternate sl, hdc. Repeat across to the end. End with a sl. Chain 2, turn.
Repeat Row 2 until you have 42 or the dishcloth is square. Cut yarn weave in ends.
