- 1 – 4 oz Lily Sugar n Cream in Coral any other worsted weight 100% cotton yarn

Abbreviations – US Terms
- yo – yarn over
- sl – slip stitch
- hdc – half double crochet
Crunch stitch video tutorial: right-handed or left-handed
You can make a larger or smaller potholder by using an odd number for the chain.

Row 1: In 3rd chain from the hook, sl in the chain, then hdc. Alternate sl, hdc. Repeat across to the end. End with a sl. Chain 2, turn.
Row 2: sl into the 2nd on top of the hdc from the row below. Alternate sl, hdc. Repeat across to the end. End with a sl. Chain 2, turn.
Repeat Row 2 until you have 38 or the potholder is square. Cut yarn weave in ends.
Repeat for the 2nd one. Do not cut. Tie off and then whip stitch the two potholders together.
You’ll always be putting the slip stitch on top of the half double crochet from the row below and the half double crochet on top of the slip stitch from the row below.

Make this easy double thick cotton potholder. The pattern is quick and makes a dense weave great for potholders.
Materials
- Scissors
- tapestry needle
- F, 3.75 mm crochet hook
- 1 – 4 oz Lily Sugar n Cream in Coral any other worsted weight 100% cotton yarn
Instructions
- Chain 35
- Row 1: In 3rd chain from the hook, sl in the chain, then hdc. Alternate sl, hdc. Repeat across to the end. End with a sl. Chain 2, turn.
- Row 2: sl into the 2nd on top of the hdc from the row below. Alternate sl, hdc. Repeat across to the end. End with a sl. Chain 2, turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until you have 38 or the potholder is square. Cut yarn weave in ends.
- Repeat for the 2nd one. Do not cut. Tie off and then whip stitch the two potholders together.
- You’ll always be putting the slip stitch on top of the half double crochet from the row below and the half double crochet on top of the slip stitch from the row below.
