You can use as a square crochet washcloth as a cleaning cloth, dish towel, or dishcloth. They work great and are durable.
This crochet stitch makes a raised textured design between the rows of double crochet. It is a simple 2 row repeat, great for watching TV and crocheting.
It is a easy crochet stitch with great texture using two basic stitches.
I chose Lion Brand Re-Up Yarn. I like that it is a recycled yarn. The yarn comes in smaller skeins. It is soft but like other cotton yarn it has a tendency to separate.
Crochet washcloths are great gifts too. You can choose a color to go with their décor or a neutral that would go with anyone’s style. They are practical too.

You can make a larger or smaller crocheted dishcloth or a blanket by using a multiple of 2 + 3 for the chain. Chain stitches count as the first stitch of each row.

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each chain across. Chain 1 and turn.
Row 2: *dc in 2nd st, sl in next*. Repeat ** across. Your last sl is worked in the top of turning ch 3. Ch 3 and turn.
Row 3: Dc in each st across, working your last dc in turning ch 1.
Repeat row 2-3 until you have 23 rows or the dishcloth is square. Last row is double crochet. Cut yarn and weave in ends with a tapestry needle.

- Chain 38
- Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each chain across. Chain 1 and turn.
