How to Make an Easy Woven Double Thick Cotton Crochet Pot Holder Pattern

Supplies

scissors
tapestry needle
1 – 2.1 oz – Lion Brand Re-Up Cotton Yarn in both gray & navy or any other worsted weight cotton yarn (60 g 98 yd)
F/5 3.75 mm crochet hook

Abbreviations – US Terms

ch/chs – chain/chains
st/sts – stitch/stitches
hdc – half double crochet stitch
dc – double crochet stitch
bpdc – back post double crochet stitch
fpdc – front post double crochet stitch

Use an odd multiple of 3 +4 for the beginning chain.

Size: 8 in x 8 in (20 cm)

ch 34

Row 1: dc in the 4th ch from the hook and in each ch across. Chain 2 and turn.

Row 2: In the 2nd st, 3 bpdc in the next 3 sts, 3 fpdc in the next 3 sts, Repeat **. Last st is a hdc. Chain 2 and turn.

Repeat Row 2 until you 23 rows or the length you want. The last row is a row of double crochet.

Color changes every 2 rows.

Make another one for the back of the potholder. Whip or slip stitch the two wrong sides together.
