Looking for a cozy handmade gift to make? Try this free ribbed crochet ear warmer headband pattern. It would make a perfect gift.
Crocheted headbands are great. You can still have your hair up in a bun and not wear a hat. I like that they don’t seem to make my hair stand up with static electricity either.
You could call this a messy bun hat too, since it goes covers most of your head. It is double thick on the bottom ribbed section to keep your ears nice and warm.

You can make this free crochet headband pattern in no time. There are lots of pretty colors of yarn available.
I really like this Caron Paint yarn. It has soft texture with little bits of reds. The yarn is easy to work with and comes in lots of colors.
This ribbed crochet ear warmer pattern is great for beginners too. I would call this pattern a beginner plus.
You only need to be able to do chain, half double crochet, and single crochet stitch. The most complicated thing is placing your stitches evenly around the ribbed section after you fold it.
